Why to Get Global Entry for Kids:

  • No processing lines or paperwork

  • Expedited Entry (anything faster with kids is better, right?)

  • Available at most U.S. Airports

  • Reduced Wait times (this is clutch for when you have a connection!!!)

Our Why:

On a recent international trip to Costa Rica with our toddler, our first flight on the way home was delayed on the tarmac & we ended up missing our connection by about 15 minutes. When we arrived to the Houston Airport, getting through customs was absolute mayhem and we know that had we ensured our 3-year-old also had global entry, we would have made our connection. This ended up being a horrible travel day, as our toddler had gotten carsick on the way to the airport, our luggage (with all of our extra clothes) went home, but we did not. We ended up spending the night in a hotel, having to wash our clothes in the sink, and getting home 36 hours later. Lesson learned: Do Not Fly International Without Global Entry for the WHOLE family!

Travel with Kids

Tip 1: Kids Must Have It!

We kind of assumed that like TSA Pre-Check, if the parents have it, kids will just be able to go through as well. That is not the case! All members of the family must have Global Entry!

We absolutely love our travel credit card because it helps us acquire points really quickly and has SO many benefits (like TSA PreCheck & Global Entry Reimbursed!

If you don’t have a Credit Card already that is earning you points towards travel, this is our favorite:

Earn 60,000 bonus points with either Chase Sapphire® card. I can be rewarded if you apply here and are approved for the card.

A parent or legal guardian must already be a member of, or applying for Global Entry at the time!
